Our Story
Somerset Festivals is the independent guide to festivals across Somerset. One place to find what is on, from the most famous festival on earth to the village celebrations you would otherwise only hear about by word of mouth. All of it, all year round, in one calendar. No ads, no pop-ups, no paid partnerships.
How it started
Somerset Festivals grew out of Bristol Festivals. That guide began years ago with a domain and a good intention, then sat quietly while work and life got in the way. When G&V, our agency, grew smaller, sharper and better placed to spend time on its own brands and passion projects, Bristol Festivals was finally built the way it was always meant to be.
Once it was live, the gap next door was obvious. Somerset holds some of the best festivals in the country, but finding them meant piecing together council pages, Facebook events and posters in shop windows. So we built the same thing for the county: a clear snapshot of what is on this week, this month and beyond, backed by a full listing that is easy to browse. Somerset Festivals launched in October 2026, alongside its sister guide for Devon.
What we cover
Every kind of festival Somerset holds: music and folk, food, drink and cider, literature, comedy, arts and culture, family days and grassroots community events. Free festivals and ticketed ones. World-famous institutions like Glastonbury Festival and small-town favourites alike. If it is a festival in Somerset, we want it here.
Somerset Festivals is independent and free to use, built and run by G&V LABS as a passion project. The aim is simple: the most complete, most useful picture of what is happening across the county, kept current so you can actually plan around it.
The principle has not changed since day one. No ads. No pop-ups. No paid partnerships. Just an independent, genuinely useful guide to the festivals happening across Somerset.
Why Somerset
Somerset is a festival county like few others. It is the home of Glastonbury, the most famous festival in the world, but that is only the start. Bath brings a deep classical and literary tradition with its Mozartfest and Jane Austen Festival. The Mendips and Exmoor have their folk and outdoor festivals, Frome, Wells and Taunton each run brilliant town festivals, and the county's orchards give it a cider culture all its own.
But it is scattered. Visitors planning a trip deserve to know what is on the weekend they arrive. People who live here deserve a single place that reflects the whole picture of the county, not just the headliner. That is what Somerset Festivals is for.
What counts as a Somerset festival
Any festival held within the ceremonial county of Somerset: Somerset Council's area, Bath and North East Somerset, and North Somerset, across the TA, BA and southern BS postcodes.
You have to draw the line somewhere, and the county is the fair one. It is clear and consistent rather than a matter of opinion, so there is no debating whether somewhere is "Somerset enough".
Somerset Festivals is a G&V Venture Brand, built by G&V LABS alongside its sister guides for Bristol and Devon.
